Description
The TIG torch (“TIG” = Tungsten Inert Gas, for its acronym in English) is a device for welding using a non-consumable tungsten electrode. The electrode, the arc and the area surrounding the weld pool are protected from the atmosphere by an inert gas.
TIG welding provides exceptionally clean and high-quality welds because it does not produce slag. In this way, the possibility of inclusions in the deposited metal is eliminated and final cleaning is not required.
It can be used to weld almost all types of metals. It is mainly used for welding aluminum and stainless steels where the joining of high quality joints is required for example: aeronautical construction, food industries, etc.
